The boys in Room 1 have really enjoyed our Science lessons recently. This week, we dissected pumpkins.The boys did a wonderful job of finding the skin, pulp, seeds, stem and fibrous strands. This experiment gave us lots of opportunities for language development and hands on exploration and most importantly, we had lots of fun!
Spooky is definitely our theme of the week! The boys are having great fun preparing for halloween with their spooky witches hats and skeletons.
We really enjoyed he spooky music Bergie our music teacher introduced to us this week. The music we listened to was Danse Macabre by the French composer Saint-Sans.
We read and painted Mr Bump this week in theme with Halloween.
We had some very exciting news today in Prefab 8. Last week we entered a competition for Maths week to guess the correct (or nearest) number of jellies in the jar. Our guess was 181 and today we found out we won!! The boys were delighted and celebrated with some jellies.
We had a special treat this week. We made Rice Krispie buns! We practised hand hygiene when cooking and handling food. We measured how much chocolate we needed and how much mixture to scoop into our bun cases. We even got to lick our spoons at the end!
We wrote a poem about pumpkins and made beautiful pumpkin pictures.
