Signs of Spring

We walked to the Phoenix Park today to see if we could find signs of spring in our locality. The boys did an amazing job of using their ‘Science Eyes’ and found evidence of spring all around us!

The Water Cycle

As part of our learning about seasonal change, we have been talking about the Water Cycle. We learned a song to help us remember the words evaporation, condensation and precipitation. Today, we made rain gauges from bottles. We used to stones as weights to help them stay upright. We will use them to help us collect, measure and record data about rainfall.

Ceolchoirm

The boys made us very proud at our school ceolchoirm. They sang ‘Beidh Aonach Amárach’ and said the poem ‘Tá an Bháisteach ag Titim.’ Maith sibh a bhuachaillí!

There’s no such thing as a Gruffalo!

His eyes are orange, his tongue is black, he has purple prickles all over his back…. Can you find your Gruffalo?

World Book Day

We celebrated World Book Day wearing our pyjamas to school and we listened to some of our favourite bedtime stories. Ms Markey read The Gruffalo to us. We wrote about our favourite characters from the story.

World Book Day

The boys enjoyed choosing some books to take home from our World Book Day book swap event! We finished the day by reading a fun book by one of our favourite authors (book pictured below)   (!

Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day!

World Book Day

Our theme for World Book Day was bedtime stories. All the boys made a huge effort to come to school in their PJs. We concentrated on Irish Legend stories and enjoyed hearing about all the warriors and druids.
