We enjoyed making our friendship pictures! All the boys worked very hard on their lovely pictures showing good friends having fun together.

We had fun today doing Literacy stations. The boys moved around the room doing various games that will help with their literacy skills. We had a Tricky Word matching game, jigsaws and writing skills on our small whiteboards. We also revised the sounds s,a,t,i,p and n in small groups with teacher. Please continue to revise these at home. The boys should know the name of each letter, the sound it makes and two words that start with each letter. The boys also used the website ‘www.starfall.com’ to learn about letters and the sound they make.

We celebrated the end of Friendship Fortnight with a fun Pizza Party! Well done to the boys on being extra kind to each other and for also filling up our kindness jar with glitter! Glitter was added to the jar each time the boys were kind to each other.

We had fun again with our Aistear theme for this month – The Farm. The boys at the Farm Shop were selling lots of food and customers were writing their shopping lists! We also created paper plate farm animals and played with our toy farm.

We had fun today doing our Maths stations. We tried some new games with dice and counters and did more work on patterns and counting.

We worked on sets today in Maths. The boys made sets that are the same. We counted the boys at each group to check if each group has the same amount of boys.

Welcome back to all the boys and I hope they all enjoyed their mid term break. Here is some of the work we will be covering in November in Prefab 9.

Our Aistear topic this month is The Farm. The boys will be role playing in our Farm Shop, making farm animals at our creative station, playing with a toy farm for our Small World station and making houses for farm animals. If the boys have any farm related toys, jigsaws or books at home they could bring them in to show us.

The boys have now all received their homework folders. Please keep them in their school bags and I will collect these up every Friday to be returned on Monday. This weeks Nursery Rhyme is Baa baa black sheep.

In Maths we will be looking at shapes and patterns and also doing work on ‘more and less’ e.g. which set has more?

We will be doing Bia (Food) in Irish. The boys have been learning the words – bosca lóin, ceapaire, úll and banana.

In PE we will be doing movement and dance. The boys had fun today moving to different types of music in the PE Hall.

We had fun in Prefab 9 reading the book Winnie the Witch. We then used black paint to paint our own witches! Well done to the boys on their lovely creations!

We were delighted in Prefab 9 as were the winners of the trophy for Line of the Week in the small yard! We tried very hard all week to stand nicely in the line. Well done boys. Ms. Kirwan is very proud of you all! The trophy is on display in our room for the week!
