Pumpkin Science

We had so much fun during our Science lesson today. During our investigation, we examined pumpkins, watched a video about their growth and life cycle and conducted lots of hands on exploration. Finally, because we are scientists, we recorded our findings!

Oíche Shamhna

Oíche Shamhna has definitely been our favourite Gaeilge theme so far this year. The boys love our activities and we are amazed at the progress they have made. Maith sibh a bhuachaillí!


Creepy Pair of Underwear Drama

Our Drama theme this week was based on the book, ‘Creepy Pair of Underwear!’ The boys had lots of fun making freeze frames and taking turns to role play being Jasper Rabbit and the Creepy Underwear. We are having lots of fun reading Halloween stories in Prefab 9.

We created beautiful Frankenstein art inspired by Picasso’s style of cubism.

Signs of Autumn

We have been talking in class about signs of autumn. We talked about urban and rural settings and we identified lots of seasonal fruits and vegetables. We also talked about evergreen and deciduous trees and hibernating and dormant animals. We decided to take our learning outside and we went looking for signs of autumn in the Phoenix Park!

P.E.

We have been working on ways of travelling in P.E. and trying to use our hands, feet and our whole body to move in different ways. Today, we tried different ways of rolling. Here are some of the highlights!
